I'd love to suggest that you allow one category to include pictures - and video/audio links.
Just pictures, and only links to video/audio... not actually a multimedia onslaught like all the other places in the 'netverse.
OMG though do NOT change the main stuff at all ever please please I beg you as a hippie who probably planted the seeds for the trees they cut down to make into the boards they carved into paddles that were then used to beat the child who grew up to BUILD the "old school" (man, that's old).

Great Name.
I'm glad you appreciate the our goal in layout and design: simplicity and clarity.
We thought about pictures but we've decided not to allow them for three reasons:
1) We are afraid of using up all our server space too quickly.
2) We feel it would detract from the simplicity and cohesion of the site.
3) We worry, as you acknowledge, that it might detract from the focus of the site: words.

Eventually, we'll probably add a "site suggestions" section where users can post things like this. It'll be just like any other section on the site: users will be able to vote up the best suggestions (or most annoying bugs) and comment on everything.
